PROF. ZEKİ FINDIKOĞLU
was born in Boyalica, a village of Iznik, in Turkey. He spent his childhood and youth in different parts of Anatolian peninsula. During this time he studied Turkish art and culture and also, learned about the Anatolian Civilizations.
In 1965 he was accepted at Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts (Mimar Sinan Univeristy) and graduated in 1970, with a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Printmaking.
In 1973, the artist moved to the United States to continue his education.
In 1975, he received MFA degree in Design and Computer Graphics from George Washington University.
In 1979, he became a professor and Graphic Design program coordinator at the University of the District of Columbia.
In 1989, he joined the Fine Arts Department of Trinity University in Washington, D.C., as a faculty member and co-chair of the Art Department.
In 1990, he was hired by Montgomery College in Maryland to establish the art program at the Germantown, MD, campus of Montgomery College.
During this time he was Chairmen of Fine Arts, Computer Graphics, Music and Theater Departments.
The artist returned to Turkey in 2011 he was awarded Ph.D. Degree from Ministry of Higher Education of Republic of Turkey and became a professor at the Fine Arts Institute of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University Graduate School in Istanbul.
Findikoglu, an internationally accomplished artıst, continues to work in his studios in USA and Turkey.
