Emre Baykal was born in İstanbul in 1975. He moved with his family to Zurich, Switzerland, when he was 4. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Zurich and higher education in Montreux.
In 2000, he settled in St. Petersburg, Russia. There, he worked with Andrey Malinovsky, teacher of Reriha Art School, for a period of 4 years. At the same time, he has been working in artist (graphic) Oleg Grechkin's workshop from St. Petersburg Fine Arts Academy and also with Professor Andrey Pakhomov, head of the department of graphics of the same foundation and corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Fine Arts.
Starting from 2002, he participated in many exhibitions in Zurich, Istanbul and Antalya as mostly being solo. In his figurative paintings, besides oil painting, he also works with watercolor, pastel and charcoal. He is a member of Saint-Petersburg Artists Association and International Association of Art (USPD)continues his artistic work in Saint-petersburg and Switzerland his own atelier.
